Misconceptions About Montessori
Because the name "Montessori" is not a trademark, it has occasionally been used by schools that do not actually follow the Montessori Method. Unfortunately, this has created a lot of myths and misconceptions about true Montessori practices, as implemented by legitimate schools accredited by AMI and AMS.

Misconception: Montessori classrooms are unstructured- children can do whatever they want
Misconception: Montessori classrooms are unstructured- there is no organization to the curriculum
Misconception: Montessori children can't transition into traditional classrooms

Misconception: Montessori teachers do not teach -they leave that to the materials and the older children
